The first commemorative issue of Ukraine – Commemorative banknote of UAH 50 nominal value of 2004 sample 2011 “NBU 20 years”.
The first commemorative banknote of Ukraine was issued on October 5, 2011 and was timed to the 20th anniversary of the National Bank of Ukraine. Officially, the day of the bank’s establishment is October 7, 1991. On this day the charter of the National Bank of Ukraine was approved. The commemorative banknote has a face value of UAH 50 and the general design of the usual 50 hryvnia banknote 2011. The main picture of the front side is the portrait of MIKHAIL GRUSHEVSKY. The main picture of the reverse side – the House of the UKRAINIAN CENTRAL COUNCIL. Size, mm – 72 x 136. On the anniversary banknote there are two differences. On the front side of the banknote is printed with special ink inscription “NBU 20 years”. When looking at the banknote from different angles, the color of the inscription changes from gold to green. The second difference is a special series of the banknote -NB and the serial number of the banknote itself from 0000001 to 0001000. The first hundred numbers were reserved for the NBU management. The second hundred numbers were cast in plexiglass and included in the gift sets together with a silver plate. The banknotes were packed in a special postcard and envelope package.
